About this project

Van Man Upper Nithsdale offers professional house clearance, removals, furniture transport and waste removal across Dumfries & Galloway and Upper Nithsdale. They needed a clear, trustworthy website built from scratch with full custom code—no templates—including a private admin area so they could manage content themselves. The site had to reflect their positioning: reliable, friendly and affordable, while letting potential customers quickly see services, credentials and how to book.

The custom site includes a strong services section—house moves and clearances, furniture transport, waste removal (with SEPA and licensed waste carrier emphasis), and pickups and deliveries—plus a simple “How it works” flow, FAQ, and testimonials. A multi-step quote form lets users request a personalised quote with optional photo uploads. Trust points (SEPA registered, licensed waste carrier, fully insured, eco-friendly disposal) are highlighted, and contact details plus working hours are easy to find. Through the admin area, the client can upload and update customer reviews and the before-and-after gallery, so the public site always reflects their latest work. The gallery supports local SEO for areas such as Sanquhar, Kirkconnel and Thornhill.

The result is a focused, professional presence that helps Van Man convert enquiries into jobs. With clear structure, mobile-friendly layout and targeted local SEO, the website supports their reputation as the local choice for house clearances and removals across the region.

Under the hood, the site is built with semantic HTML5 and responsive CSS (custom properties, flexbox and grid) so it stays fast and readable on all devices. The multi-step quote form uses client-side validation and optional file uploads with type and size checks; submissions are handled server-side and can trigger email notifications or feed into a simple pipeline. The admin area is protected by authentication and session handling. From there the client can add, edit and reorder testimonials and before-and-after gallery items, with image uploads processed and optimised for the web. Content is stored in a database and rendered on the public pages, so the front end stays quick with lazy-loaded images and minimal script. Structured data and clean markup support local SEO and accessibility.
